Precision in practice: Intravenous iron therapy

CSL Vifor’s innovative nanoparticle technology was applied in a real-world clinical setting to improve treatment outcomes for patients with iron deficiency. For example the clinical profile of ferric carboxymaltose has been further confirmed through its use in over 33 million patient-years since its market introduction.* By harnessing the targeted power of nanomedicine, this approach delivered iron exactly where it was needed. The results speak to the promise of precision medicine in everyday care.

What are Nanoparticles, and why do they matter in medicine?

Nanoparticles may be small, but their impact on medicine is anything but. These tiny, engineered materials – often thousands of times smaller than the width of a human hair – are changing how we deliver therapies, especially in complex conditions like iron deficiency. This piece breaks down what nanoparticles are, how they work, and why they represent a smarter, more targeted future for healthcare.
